Dame is the French word for Lady...

About the company, Dame Creations is my signature name. It all first started when more and more people started to ask me to make clothing for them. It is a word play that came to me by using the first two letters of my oldest daughters, Danna and Méganne.

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Manon. I am originally from Montreal, Quebec. Yes, you probably guessed, I am French-Canadian I am a seamstress/dressmaker with over 15 years of experience. I have touched many fields In my sewing career, I have worked in many cities in Canada and in the United States. I worked for tailors, bridal store, hotels and interior designers. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to realize a dream I have cherished for years, running my own business.

I started sewing in my early 20s as a hobby. making cute little outfits for my daughters. I developed a passion from the hobby. Transforming  a piece of fabric into a gorgeous garment. With a partner, I ran an alteration shop making the every day clothing a perfect fit, I learned to excel in that area. This allowed me to learn secrets in repairing garments, putting it back the same exact way as when it was purchased.  Over  the years I have made outfits for friends and family, from formal to everyday wear. Working for a bridal store as a seamstress, fitting wedding gowns, bride's maids and evening gowns proved to be a challenge that I quickly learned to master. I had a good mentor teaching me the finest tricks of beading and bustling. On many occasions I made custom gowns for the bride and her maids, flower girl as well as the mother of the bride and groom. Then I started to make ballroom costumes just like the ones you can see on television, ballroom dancing being another one of my passion. I am currently an active amateur competitor in the Midwest at Ballroom events. Keep your eyes open as more of my creations are worn by professionals and amateurs to various competition throughout the USA and Canada.

I appreciate and enjoy the compliments I get when I tell people I made the gown I am wearing. It is impossible to describe the feeling of splendor you get when attending a gala or a ball wearing a one of a kind garment that you contributed in creating and you know for sure no one will wear anything alike. This is what I love the most. My mother says that I am gifted, taking after her mother. She also says that I have fairy fingers. I look at it this way, when you love what you do, you are able to do it to perfection.
